1.Information We Collect

We collect information to provide, personalize, and improve your programming experience on NexusCode:

  • GitHub Account Information: When you sign in with GitHub, we receive basic profile details including your username, display name, public avatar URL, and verified email address.
  • Practice & Submission Data: We store source code submissions, execution outputs, timestamps, problem solving metrics, streaks, and contest ranks.
  • Optional Google Gemini API Key: If you choose to configure a personal Gemini API key, it is encrypted in our secure database and transmitted only to Google Gemini API endpoints to evaluate your code.

2.How We Use Your Information

Your data is used strictly for the following purposes:

  • Authenticating your user session and managing your profile.
  • Running and grading algorithmic code submissions in real time.
  • Computing global ranks, contest leaderboards, and Nexus Points rewards.
  • Ensuring platform integrity, fair play, and preventing automated abuse.

3.Data Protection & Security

We prioritize data security. Authentication sessions use secure industry-standard JSON Web Tokens (JWT). We never sell, rent, or trade your personal data with third-party advertisers. Your personal API keys are strictly confidential and are never shared or made visible to other users.

4.Cookies & Local Storage

NexusCode uses essential cookies and browser local storage solely for session persistence (e.g. keeping you logged in) and client-side preferences (such as code editor layout and temporary offline key caching). We do not use third-party tracking or advertising cookies.

5.Your Rights & Control

You have full control over your profile. You may update your profile details, remove your configured Gemini API key at any time from your settings or navbar modal, or request complete account and data removal by contacting us.
